Arjaan by Rotana l A Family Weekend Staycation

If you are in Dubai Media City, there is a building that truly stands out from the rest of the skyscrapers in the area.

This one is a beauty that one cannot mistake for another as it has a Moorish design, simply stunning inside and out.

Arjaan by Rotana-Dubai was our luxurious home for a couple of days over the last weekend. We didn't go on vacation to the Philippines this year hence we are making the most out of our local annual vacation in Dubai.

We were warmly received at the reception and check-in was quick and easy. Parking was never an issue as valet is available 24 hours a day.

The moment we saw clowns distributing twisted balloons to young guests at the reception, we knew that the hotel is family-friendly. Prince was handed a blue sword, he shyly accepted it but smiled from ear to ear when he face us to show his blue balloon.

This area is called the "skylight." Big events like wedding parties are held here and it can accommodate up to 300 guests. It was being set up when we were here hence the many round tables around

For other events like meetings, the hotel has six meeting rooms that can be set up according to the clients' needs.

Each corner was so pretty that groupies and selfies even by and in the elevator were inevitable

Welcome greetings from Mr. Mostafa Ismail - Front Office Manager who took the time to take me and my daughter for a hotel tour.  He showed us The Duplex One Bedroom Apartment which was amazing as it has a view of all four corners of the city and the Premium Two Bedroom Apartment which has a plunge pool.

Arjaan DMC is very accessible via the Media City tram station, just a few meters away. We haven't used the tram since it started its operation so we took advantage of it. On our second day at the hotel, we left our car and took the tram to Dubai Marina.

For two days, we woke up to this picturesque sea view, overlooking The Palm Jumeirah from our fully furnished Deluxe Two Bedroom Apartment. We were utterly grateful for the upgrade. Mica, my daughter was the happiest to have the other room all to herself to sleep on.

Both spacious rooms have a very comfortable king-size bed with a stylish orange leather headboard with the softest and whitest of duvets. Ours has a walk-in closet (with an in-room safe and iron and ironing board) that leads to a ceramic bathroom complete with Rotana toiletries, robes, towels, and towelettes and a shower room that is separate from the bathtub.

What I like most in our hotel room was the safety feature of a child lock in all the sliding doors that opens to the balcony or window.

I'm telling you, the free in-room wifi is as good as having an in-room dining service, in this era, it is a necessity

The super comfy bed made the kids fall asleep quickly at night but made it hard to peel them off come morning to go for breakfast

The sitting room with plush sofas combined with the dining area has a balcony that opens to the same sea view above.

Ferald and I had complimentary coffee in the sitting room while watching the movie, The Day After Tomorrow, after the kids went to bed

The well-equipped kitchen has a stove, oven, fridge, washing machine, microwave, and sink which is very useful for guests staying longer. I was told that most of the guests coming from GCC countries stay for as long as one week, mostly families vacationing in Dubai and business travelers. Arjaan also offers monthly and yearly rentals.

Our stay includes a complimentary Friday brunch, an International theme night's dinner, and breakfasts that deserve a separate post because we didn't just love the food and the ambiance of Arabesque, we applaud the service, it was over the top.

The heat of summer limits us to do things outdoors in the middle of the day when temps go as high as 40 to 50 degrees Celsius. It's either we do it early morning or after almost sunset so even if the kids were very excited to use the swimming pool, we patiently waited until it was almost sunset.

The fabulous Veranda poolside snack bar is on the first floor of Arjaan DMC. It offers all kinds of mocktails, light snacks, and a wide selection of delectable ice cream flavors. It has a beautiful city and sea view as well.

The swimming pool was quite small compared to other hotel pools I've been to but it was big enough to keep us, especially the kids busy the whole afternoon.

The pool opens at 6:30 am and closes at 11:00 pm

There is a separate kiddie pool for the young ones

although the main swimming pool was also child friendly with an attentive lifeguard on duty.

We spent a good three to four hours each day treading in the cool pool water. I don't know what's in the water that is so addicting, the kids just love it.

Apart from this activity, I was meaning to use the gym at Bodylines, I even brought my gym wear so I could workout but I was guilty of being lazy to exercise, blame it on the holiday mood (excuses, excuses) since I didn't exercise, I just went to see it and took some photos of the well-equipped fitness gym.

There is also a souk and an office building connected to the hotel. The souk has a food court, a nail spa, a small supermarket, and an ATM machine. There was also a men's and ladies' saloon but due to a planned expansion, the hotel took over those spaces.

Even just for two nights and three days, Ferald and I and the kids as well get to relax and unwind. A welcome breather to break our daily routine and to make the most out of our annual vacation.
Ferald and I deserve it after a year of hard work. We may not be able to go to the Philippines but we still have Dubai to explore and I've got the most valid reasons why we couldn't travel anywhere at this point.

Arjaan by Rotana is a beautiful and luxurious hotel apartment that has impeccable service to boast. This a place that I can highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Dubai.

No complaints, just thankful and happy guests.

Stay tuned for my next post about Arjaan's Arabesque Restaurant.
